biography

ace_blingglassesGrowing up in southeast Wisconsin, as a teen I used to “polish” my nails with black marker and use Whiteout to create a French tip. During my college years, I polished my nails every week and matched my outfits to the nail color of the week. Little did I know this was the start of becoming a future nail technician!

For the next 20 years I lived on both the East and West Coasts, I often considered attending Cosmetology School, but working and raising a daughter and son left little time for formal education.  Instead, I became a representative for one of the largest direct-selling cosmetic companies in the U.S. This association continued for many years and gave me the confidence and knowledge of being a businesswoman. I knew that I wanted to have my own business and change women’s lives.

After moving back to the Midwest in 2009, I began working at a salon and spa – my “official” introduction to the beauty and wellness industry – where I was told, “You would be a great nail tech…you should do it!”

I graduated at the top of my class at Madison Area Technical College, Madison, WI in December 2010, received my temporary license, and immediately began my nail tech career at a local spa. I worked hard, passed the Wisconsin State Board exam and became fully licensed in March 2011. I have recently completed additional hours at Elite Nail School & Training Center, Madison, WI to become a Licensed Instructor. I have gained valuable professional insight and experience by attending numerous nail shows, beauty shows and workshops throughout the United States. I am a member of the Professional Beauty Association (PBA), Barbicide Certified and CND Shellac Pro Certified. I am Electric File Certified, as well as Waxing Certified, and will continue to achieve additional certifications in my profession to be the best Licensed Nail Technician in the industry.

Stay Polished,

Annette
